Notebook Frenzy II

It's officially summer! It's time to hit the swimming pools!

I hit the mall instead.

Yesterday Nikko and I had an 'Amazing Mall Race' of our own. Our objective: canvass notebooks (I choose to use notebook rather laptop). We are determined to get our own respective portable PCs this summer, so we need to know the notebook with the best specs at the most affordable price ever.

Cyberzone North Edsa, 1030AM

Our first mall stop: SM City North Edsa's Cyberzone mall. We walked to the very end of the strip and started from Octagon. Nikko and I basically walked the whole Cyberzone strip, making stops at every computer shop. We hoarded lots and lots of brochures and noted down a few notebooks that caught our eyes.

We had our lunch at Teriyaki Boy and caught up with the latest news about one another.

After an hour and a half (or more than that), we trekked towards the North Avenue MRT Station and was met by a humongous queue for tickets. The security guards were halting people from going up and stopped them at the stairs because it was too crowded. And add to that the commuters using MRT are so rude. They push around so that they may get to the train first. Tsk tsk. Somebody please educate them; they could get somebody's foot stuck on the space between the platform and the train because the space in MRT platforms are really big.

Cyberzone Megamall, 0100PM

Again we hoarded brochures and noted down eye-candy notebooks.

Side note: How we hated to see PowerMacCenter! Nikko and I both love to have our hands on MacBooks, but we can't because we are not sure if we can play games on it. Aside from having a notebook to do our reports on, we also want to kill time by playing The Sims 2.

We chilled at Starbucks for almost two and a half hours. We looked CEOs because we sorted out notebooks from the brochures, checking potential notebooks and crossing out the others that were too low-tech.

I spotted Nancy Castiliogne (whatever the spelling is) and Bubbles Paraiso at Starbucks.

Because we were way too early for our intended schedule, we decided to kill time @ Timezone and do our thing: Dance Maniax! AND GOSH, nobody was playing the machine! Another surprise: it costed five pesos per game! Cheap! We had fourteen rounds then we call it quits.

I spotted a chemistry upperclassman. We talked for a few minutes.

Again, we walked the mile towards Ortigas MRT (hell, the stairs are really killers) and embarked on the train towards Gateway. By that time, our feet were killing us, but we managed to walk another mile towards Gateway's Food Express. We sat down for a few minutes to relax our feet.

Gateway, 0630 PM
We had dinner at Taco Bell. It was my first time to eat there, and they served delicious food. (Especially the Cheese Fiesta Potatoes!) Because I was too full, I indulged on a bowl of potatoes and ordered tacos to go. Ending the day I bought some BreadTalk products.

CONCLUSION
I have set my eyes on an Acer notebook, but I have the hots for the MSI Megabook S420...
I will get a MacBook when I graduate from college...
