Controversy My Gluteus Maximus
Disclaimer: The post below is purely the typer's opinion. If you think the blog post is offending, then I suggest don't continue reading it.The Da Vinci Code is R-18 in the Philippines.
WHAT THE???!!!
It's one of the movies that everybody's been talking about and waiting. Especially the young people that have read the book. (Me included.) Then it's R-18? Ang KJ niyo naman!
Yes, this country's a very pious Catholic country (kuno) and they have been pondering whether to show the movie because they are afraid that their faith would be shaken. Hello, the movie is purely FICTION. FICTION, FICTION! I don't see the reason why they would rate it R-18. Because the MTRCB's afraid that youngsters would get influenced?
Depende naman kasi sa tao yun e. Kahit mga sixteen years old, they also have a right to see the movie to see what it contains. Kung hindi pa nila nababasa yung libro, sympre gusto nila panoorin yung movie diba? Your faith does not depend on a movie.
Makitid lang kasi ang isip nila eh. They can't accept it or they are afraid that after the credits have been rolled, they're believing that Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene. Sheesh! Read the Bible. All the truth is there. Look at Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. No signs of the so-called marriage.
If they are so afraid that the youngsters are gonna get influenced by the movie, then tell them to read more of the Bible and hear Mass or go to church and have fellowships. Let them hear the truth about their faith. They placed an R-18 rating on it kasi takot din sila.
As for me, mangheheram na lang po ako ng VCD sa Video City pag meron na.
And I hope Video City doesn't post an R-18 rating on borrowing VCDs because if they do so, I'd burn the whole branch down to ashes. Joke lang sympre.
