Laughs and Torture

It's the second week of class.

I arrived early for my general chemistry 101 laboratory class, which starts at around seven AM. I arrived at six forty-five. Some of my blockmates haven't arrived yet. I chatted with my friends and reviewed for the recitation. Good thing I remembered everything.

The professor (which was one of Mrs. Rivera's students raw) didn't call me, but I knew the answers to his questions. He taught us the significant figures rule, which confused me a little. 500 mL daw is three significant digits, opposed to what we were taught (500 mL is either 1,2,3 s.f.). Need to clarify.

Next was Filipino. Our lesson was on communication!! And I stupidly tore away my notes during senior year. Any Unean who still has his/her Filipino notes?? Pwede bang pa-xerox?! (Yung mga USTe or malapit na kaklase.... =D) Gng. Castro told us to recite some phrases with accompanying emotions. It was a funny class, but nothing special happened.

Algebra class with Mr. See? The same. Nothing new.

I was awarded a 100 in English because I answered the homework. Yay!

Psychology class was fun, and Dr. Maranan had a speakerphone with him. (Think Mr. V's speakerphone.) I could finally hear him, but still a little strained. He talks about UST and about our age group.

There was no trigonometry class because our professor was with the dean, having a meeting. We were dismissed early, and I went to xerox a book about Rizal and the Philippine Nationalism. Afterwards, I went to Ice Monster to cool off and read the xerox. I have a paper to submit to the professor tomorrow.

Speaking of Rizal Course, I am now very irritated.

What is the sense of studying it? Especially when the professor doesn't clarify what he's looking for in our assignment. Biro mo naman, ang daming topics na napapag-usapan tuwing class na wala naman sa topic. Argh!!!!!!

Papers papers papers. I haven't finished doing my general chemistry homework: identifying if a substance is a mixture, compound, or element. Then you have to justify why it is an element, compound, or a mixture.

See you on the next post. Don't know when it would come out. :D

Second, Third....Have Lost Count!

***After two days of constant studying, I have finally finished my reading and turned the PC on to listen to music and catch up on some things.

It's June 22! Exactly two days that I haven't opened the computer. I just finished reading my CH101L lab manual appendices because there's gonna be a recitation on Monday. I find myself studying my subjects every time I get back home, which I don't usually do when I was in high school. (Except for chemistry class, of course of course.)

I'm sneezing and feeling hot. Don't tell me I'm having a fever.

Alright, so what happened today. It turns out that a lot of my professors are Mrs. Rivera's professors too when she was still a student in UST! That is so cool. She was asking me to send her regards to Dr. Sevilla, (my favorite teacher in college) and I did it just a while ago. After we had our class, I walked beside him and told him that Mrs. Rivera's my high school teacher.

He was smiling and laughing! Doc Sev was really amused. "Estudyante ng estudyante ko nandito na!" Then he laughed out loud.

Just to move aside from our topic, let me list down my favorite teachers in college:

1. Dr. Sevilla (Ch101-general chemistry): The best professor ever. He lectures in Filipino, writes the lecture down in English, and discusses the lecture THOROUGHLY.

Wala nang sumunod. Hahaha. Dr. Menguito, the chemistry chairperson, comes next, although she's not my professor. Mabait siya; very approachable.

Goodness! All my professors, not only in chemistry subjects, all have Ph.D. degrees. The chemistry program at the UST is the center of excellence at the whole College of Science. (Hindi po ako nagyayabang, totoo po ito.)

*********

Yup. I've been advance reading my lessons every now and then. There's not a minute that I'm relaxing; I always have my chemistry book or any other book or any other assignment on my lap. Of course, Uneans are now taking their college studies seriously now. (Meron bang hindi?) I'm one of them.

I enjoy my barkada's companion, and I'm starting to know my blockmates a little more. Some of them are nagpapaturo ng Chinese during free time. I've become a parttime Chinese teacher inside class. Hehehe...

I'm considering joining the Scarlet org, the Fil-Chi org in UST. Chemistry majors are immediate members of the UST Chemical Society, but I'm eyeing the Red Cross Youth Council because they have great missions.

******

Yesterday I went back to Uno. I terribly missed the school.

When I got there with Em and Christabelle, I immediately went to Mrs. Rivera's office. God was with me! She's there! We bestowed hugs and hello's, and there she told me that most of my professors were her professors during her time.

Daming gastos! Read my last post. You'll understand.

This Friday and Saturday, I will have my break. One should not be studying all the time. Take it easy; take breaks. On Saturday, Mom will be treating me to my favorite restaurant of all time: TB! (Not tuberculosis! Guess....I have mentioned it a lot of times already.) I'll just have to study my lessons on Saturday night.

Yup, that's how hard being a science major. But since I love the course I took, I would try to love the hard work I'm given. Naks. =D

Things I like in UST:

- the cold coffee booth on the third floor (my department) just in front of the College of Science office

- the cool air around the campus

- the walks towards the classroom

- Dr. Sevilla's constant jokes and lectures

- I'm appreciating the prayers before and after class.

- mga tawanan ng Wowowee barkada

- the heavy boulders...este books

- exercise I take every morning (constant walking constant walking constant walking)

- the free cuts we get when a prof's out or absent

Things I hate in UST:

- LUNCH RUSH! Grr...

- mainit pag lunch....

- baha pag umuulan...

Yun lang! ü

God bless you all!

Note-Taking Uneans

My blockmates are wondering WHY I KEEP TAKING DOWN NOTES WHENEVER THE PROFESSOR IS TALKING. Here, let me tell you readers out there.

We Uneans are meticulous note-takers. This note-taking skill of ours is not learn in a day. We are experts of note-taking because we have been doing this for twelve years. You can see what I'm saying if you borrow one Unean's notebook. Hehehe, sangkatutak ng notes yan! (Naalala ko tuloy si Joanie. Hi, Joanie! Peace!) Whatever the teacher's saying, it's written down. Provided that it's in the content of the lesson. We don't write nonsense.

Kaya nga nagagamit yang mga notes na yan pag quiz! Paheram! Pa-xerox! I miss those times. Hehe, wag mong sabihin nagtaas na ulit ng presyo ang canteen sa Uno?! Yup yup, Uneans are just like that....born note-takers. Masters na kami, ika nga ng mga teachers namin sa high school; not just the teachers, but the alumni as well.

Hindi ba, Uneans?

*** To say the truth, I'm actually quite missing Mr. Yu walking down the corridors and checking every classroom. Imagine if he's in UST. ANG DAMI NOON!

Pooped: It Means Tired. Not Answering the Call of Nature!

It's only the second day of class and I'm feeling so tired. I bought my general chemistry book from the chem lab a while ago and it's so freaking heavy. Uneans, think our physics and chemistry book piled together. Yeah, that's how heavy it is.

The only assuring thing is that I have to bring it during Tuesdays and Thursdays. The bummer thing is, we have to bring a Bible for theology class, and then there's gonna be a book on the Rizal Course. Speaking of RC, Prof. San Luis was out for a seminar and we were dismissed immediately. It was just ten-thirty and I had lunch with my friends.

Sira ang algebra book ko!!! ************* I have to super-glue it together. Bummer bummer. My mood for studying trigonometry is shattered. I hate studying when my book is ruined.

Second day pa lang ng college, ang dami nang gastos. 1200 for general chemistry, 485 for algebra/trigonometry, 150 for the lab manual, and other books. OH, HEAVY DUTY LABORATORY GOWNS, GOGGLES, LAB KIT, AND OTHERS. Ubos ang pera namin.

Daming homework. Wala nang time mag-relax. I really wish it's Saturday so I could go out with my mother and eat eat at Teriyaki Boy (my fave resto). During Sundays, I don't usually go out now; I study and watch CSI.

Looks like my social life will become ZERO by the time I've finished the freshmen year.

Tomorrow's CH101L, and I'm gonna climb FOUR FLOORS towards the laboratory. Please read my Blogspot blog to know more of what I'm talking about. (http://groovy07.blogspot.com) Pumapayat na ako: sa bigat ng mga libro, sa taas ng building na aakyatin, sa kakalakad, at sa init.

God bless me.

Hard, Tired, and Heavy

You think madali lang sa UST? Wrong.
I'm tired!
I have darn heavy books to carry! 1 for Chem, 1 for English, 1 for Filipino, 1 for Math and Trigonometry! I don't know if I still have more, but I'm sure there are!

Let me narrate to you readers what happened today, the official start of class for the College of Science freshmen.

My class starts at 7:00 AM everyday. Since today's a Monday, my first class is CH101L which is general inorganic chemistry laboratory. Sobrang nakakapagod! The laboratory is on the fourth floor of the main building and I have to climb it. Ahhhh! I was tired when I arrived there, and panting. My blockmate, AK, said it was good exercise and laboratory is thrice a week! Imagine how many calories have lost when climbing those stairs.

We went inside the laboratory and got to our seats. Minutes later, our professor (a woman) arrived. Mahina sobra boses niya, and she reminds me of Dr. Tandang of my Ateneo ChemCamp. Ang hihina ng boses! I think her name is Mrs. Esposito-Dilan, I couldn't remember. Anyway, she wrote down the requirements for the lab and grouped us. My groupmate is Nico, which is also my seatmate.

Dalawa pala ang prof namin sa CH101L. The next professor was Mr. Albano, and he REALLY REALLY reminded me of Mr. Pacia. Yung tipong strict na funny na ewan mo ba kung matatakot ka sa kanya o pwede kang makipag-joke joke. He distributed our general chemistry lab manuals. Costs 150php.

Next class was Filipino. My blockmates and I went down the stairs to the third floor, where we went to RM319 (my homeroom). Gng. Castro was the strict kind that had a little pinch of Mrs. Rosete in it, but my Fil101 prof was speaking in full Filipino; Mrs. Rosete was Tag-Lish. She gave a short quiz about the orientation and I got five out of ten. It was good na; the others were four and three.

Sumunod na klase ay Math101 or algebra. The professor is a Chinese and it was obvious in his English, and nakakatuwa siya magsalita. We had to buy this book at the Department of Math and Physics and costs 485php. I bought it, and my, IT'S SO HEAVY.

Lunch break! The Wowowee group (my new barkada) went to KFC for lunch but there was no vacant table. George saw me and talked to me for a few minutes then went back to eating his lunch. We had to take our lunch out and eat it at a in between the soccer field and the university chapel. No need to worry, nobody's playing soccer while we're having our lunch.

My friends and I entered our classroom exactly at one, when our English class begins. A minute later, the prof came, and the others were late. Good thing we were early! The professor had us introduce ourselves, but the first row students will have them on Wednesday due to time constraint. While the other students talked, she was falling asleep. Naalala ko tuloy si Mrs. Batu, my science teacher when I was in second grade.

Instead of having psychology class, the class had their class officer elections. I didn't run; I'd like to focus on my studies thank you. I just wish the newly elected officers please do their job well. 但是我沒有抱著很大的希望。

Last class was Math102 or trigonometry. I went to the board to answer a question and luckily I remember what Mr. Byron Ang taught us last senior year. Maarte naman yung prof na ito! She wants a medium sized graphing notebook for her class and I had to buy one. Sayang naman yung isa na binili ko dati.

My classes end at 3pm today. Good thing tomorrow, I only have three subjects and I'd be back home at 1130am. Hehehe....I'm kinda nervous about the Rizal Course reporting tomorrow. Sana okay.

Have lots of homework, but thank God that they're due next week.

Sores

Having nothing to do, I surfed over to Friendster and checked out a few profiles.

Guess what, I found myself irritated.

There are a lot of profiles modified with some background colors, well, they've done it CSS style or whatever you call it. I had a very, very hard time reading them. Yellow or white colored fonts? How am I suppose to read them? I have to CTRL + A so I'd know the contents. And there are a lot of profiles with those aLtErNaTe cApItAL letters.

They are not cute.

What is the freaking point of having those alternate capital letters?

Basta, ang dami dyang
Friendster profiles ang sakit sa mata.

Argh, eyesores!!

Orientation and Campus Tour

Instead of having classes on the second day (yesterday), we had our orientation and campus tour. The orientation was held in the Medicine Auditorium of the Medicine Building. It's a spacious auditorium; imagine Onstage Greenbelt. Like that, but instead of cup holders, we have small desks attached on the chairs.

We had Mass first. The reverend father (ata) told us: "First year ka pa lang, magpakamatay ka na." Haha, magpakamatay na sa hirap. After the Mass, it was the freshmen orientation. They introduced to us the deans, teachers, and the society officers. We had an intermission break, where the College of Science Dance Troupe showed us their moves. Afterwards, the College of Science dean Fortunato Sevilla, Ph.D.(my new friends teasingly call him Tito Fortunato, of course not face-to-face) gave us his speech. Pagkatapos, lunch break.

I went with my blockmates to Chowking. Before arriving at the fastfood restaurant, we had to tread flood water. It is shallow, don't worry, but some girls were really shrieking. Maybe water had made its way onto their white skirts. Me, I'm careful. I had enough floodwater incidences already.

I ordered the yang chow fried rice. I had been eating fried rice for my whole life! Ask us Uneans. Siomai, 叉燒,炒飯,叉燒包... anyway, I just ate with them. After lunch, we made our way to the church and waited for the tour. We received our free sling bags and inside were the student handbook, science journal, bandanna, ek ek ek ek...

They have this tradition in UST, wherein freshmen would have to pass through the Arch of the Centuries. Only once, walang padaan ulit. The upperclassmen say it signifies you'd graduate. I'm not sure, but I heard that you'll just pass back the Arch when you've graduated? I am not certain.

The campus tour took a toll on my friends' feet. Some foot stockings were torn and one toe sticking out. It was fun, fun, fun. I've found myself a group, too: eight girls with the same favorite: laughing all day long. Thank God for them!

The upperclassmen say the course is tough. Emphasis on tough! From fifty students, come fourth year, approximately twenty-five will remain. The knack on how to survive?

Been doing it in Uno, and Uneans are experts already. (HIndi ba?)

STUDY, STUDY, STUDY, STUDY, STUDY!

God bless everyone!

PS> Uneans Batch 2006! Comment and tag naman kayo! I miss ya all!

First Day High!

Finally, after weeks (months) of waiting, today's the dreadful day. Or not so dreadful.

I woke up at 5:30 AM to have breakfast, brush teeth, shower, get dressed, and so on and so forth. Luckily there was no traffic on the way to UST. I met a lot of froshies taking the jeep towards the campus. After getting off my destination and walking towards the Dapitan Gate, I went to the Main Building. I received texts from Hazel asking where I was, too.

I saw Lalaine on the line towards the building entry. I met her during the regristration day and she's from St. Stephen's. Quite a jolly girl. Steering you guys back to the topic....I met Emmeline on the main building entrance. We said hello, and she went to her classroom 'coz she was late daw. I made my way to my classroom, the Labrador Hall, and took a seat on the front rows.

The first girl I talked to was Jamie. A very, very chatty girl. That's good....and then the students came flowing into the classroom. I noticed that there were many of us.

After a few minutes, the dean of the deparment came to our class and took our registration forms to sign it. I got mine back with both hands. (Thanks to Dr. Ngo for teaching us the manners!) Then Dr. Sevilla (our chem101 prof) arranged our seats alphabetically. I'm sitting at the front row, left side, near the walls--and my seatmates are good: Nico and Jessa.

After chem101 was theology class, but the prof was out. And the classroom was really really noisy! Think ten times noisier than our Uno days. Cellphones blaring out mp3s and some peeps asking Friendsters around. (Me included.) It was fun, and I got to meet new friends. I get along with most of them, and that's very, very good news. Hope the friendship would last long. =D

I met some wacky girls too....hahaha, their personalities really match with mine. Thank God! I was really worried maybe the class was gonna be really quiet and reserved, but it turns out that it's a wacky block. That's good. That's good, 'coz Em's block is really tahimik daw.

Since my classes end on 1130 AM, I texted Michelle Sim and Em to get lunch together. Sorry friends, couldn't go to lunch with you, next time!!! I promise! (My new pals were inviting me to get lunch w/them.) And my mother dear! ANG DAMING TAO! PUNONG PUNO! I had no choice but to go outside and go to Wendy's, my other favorite fastfood. It was also jam-packed, but I managed to find some seats. Not long, Emmeline together with Christabelle and their new friend Clarisse came in.

That's it for my first day! It was fun, really. Got to meet some cool people....and quiet people too. =D Tomorrow's orientation day! Jeez...got to get working on my Rizal Course homework.

My prof in RC called me for recitation during his class. His question: "Why do we need to study Rizal Course?"

Answer: "Sir, as Filipinos, through Rizal we can know ourselves. Through his way of writing we know our culture and what we fight for." Parang ganon. Buti na lang he said, "Good. Good answer. Magaling."

Whew!

Oh yeah, speaking of RC, my prof had this Visayan accent and I-don't-know-what English grammar. Hehehe, Uneans are really meticulous in grammar...right?

Tata!

Sooner or Later

Duncan James- Sooner or Later

Don't be scared, of your shadow
You can't hide, from your sorrow
You can't stay here, till tomorrow

Welcome to the club of broken hearts
Where a thousand lonely souls have passed

Sooner or later, you're gonna wake up and find what your looking for
Like a diamond washed up on the shore
In the meantime you're feeling like your lost without a friend,
Sooner or later, you're gonna love again,
Sooner or later, you're gonna love again.

Love has left you rejected
You put up your defenses
Now your heart's been trying to test it.

Now you join the land of broken dreams
No good wishing for what could have been.

Sooner or later, you're gonna wake up and find what your looking for
Like a diamond washed up on the shore
In the meantime you're feeling like you're lost without a friend
Sooner or later, you're gonna love again
Sooner or later, you're gonna love again

So don't be scared, of your shadow
You can't hide, from your sorrow.

Sooner or later, you're gonna wake up and find what your looking for
Like a diamond washed up on the shore
In the meantime you're feeling like you're lost without a friend
Sooner or later, you're gonna love again
Sooner or later, you're gonna love again.

Tomorrow's Class!!!

Yay, I'm so super excited. Some of my UST-Unean friends have already started classes today and they're saying that they have homework immediately.

I already bought a bag and some essentials from SM Manila just a while ago. I can't wait to start class and meet some new faces. I hope to have some new pals tomorrow; and pray that they're approachable and friendly. Like me. (Hahahahah....hindi ba?)

Come by tomorrow and check out my post! See ya!

Never Been So Bored

The title says it all. Summer 2006 is the most, most, most boring summer vacation ever in my life. I had nothing BIG to do last April and May but sit at the sofa, watch TV, sleep, and occasionally swimming and badminton. I should be learning how to drive that April but mom backed off because enrolment for driving lessons cost two thousand G's: one hour per day for five days. Waste of money. Then she said that our worker teach me how to drive. It was put off for MONTHS until last, last week I think.

Wasted time. I could've learned something else!

Why did I say I've never been so bored in my sixteen years of life? Here, let me tell you.

The first time I was bored was during a talk by a pastor in our youth camp held in Baguio. Reasons maybe the fact that it was my first camp. But the other pastor didn't make me sleep; instead, laughed out loud. I enjoyed the first pastor's talk than this second one. I kept falling asleep, and almost bonked my head on the church bench in front of me, luckily there was a kind lady that pulled my jacket every now and then.

Second time I was bored...no bored and frustrated was....I'd rather keep it to myself. It happened a year ago, but when I think of it, I still get so irritated.

Summer 2005 was one of the best summer vacations I'd had. It was a very busy one: with summer camp, Ateneo Chem Camp, and shopping and stuff like that. THIS YEAR is really a very, very annoying summer vacation. Lots of bad stuff came (but thankfully went away) and cliche as it may sound, that's because I have exhausted any activity possibly done during the summer vacation.

How I hope to start class RIGHT THIS MOMENT.

Shoot it. Argh!

Pasukan Na!

Wala Lang

I've just finished reading one of my close high school friends' (still is) blog and I'm motivated to do a post about something about books. Haha, I am so bored here that I can't find anything to do anymore. I've exhausted every possible activity that one would do during the summer.

Believe me, when you've graduated from high school and waiting to get to college, you get so impatient to begin class.

Antepost: Well, I'll tell you this: I'm meticulous when it comes to details. I want everything complete, organized, and neat. Little mess and I'm gonna repeat the whole deal again. That's also how I work: neat, neat, neat, neat. That's why teachers love to give me job to do. And sometimes they overdo it.

Anyway. Back to the topic.

I love to read suspense or movie tie-in novels, only on one condition: it must be written in third-person narrative. I have a book here that I bought a year ago, and because it's written in first-person, I didn't finish it.

Suspense novels make you think, think, think on who would be the killer or whatsoever. If you buy a book, don't read the katapusan. Spoils everything. I don't have a specific favorite author. I read the plots at the book back cover and decide for myself which book to purchase. My favorite book shops? Powerbooks and Fully Booked no doubt. Sometimes National Bookstore.

Hmm...maybe I do have a specific favorite author/s: Max Allan Collins and Stuart Kaminsky. The former is the writer of all the CSI books out there. He's written lots of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation books and two CSI: Miami novels. They're all fantastic. Kaminsky, on the other hand, writes CSI: NY. The two of them are very detailed.

Yeah, speaking of CSI, I do have a book collection here at my house. I've finished collecting all the books and have read them as well. They are all well-written, and the books are what keeps me alive (with the exception of eating and drinking) during the summer. I have devoted a section for all my CSI novels.

There are other good authors out there, but as I've said, I read the plots before I buy them.

Oh yeah, before I forget, a list of the books that I really, really DISLIKED.

1. Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime: No offense to those who enjoyed it, but to me it is nonsense. I didn't like the book and thankful that I didn't waste three hundred bucks for it.

2. The Adventures of Tom Sawyer: I didn't even bother reading it.

3. Pygmalion: No comment.I didn't enjoy this one either.

The books are all book reports from my high school years. There are more, but I won't be putting them here. I don't like reading classics. (except some Shakespeare works) Period.

The Product of a Bored Mind (or person)

Instead of staying home and attracting flies, I decided to accompany my mom to Makati. We rode the LRT, and as usual, I stood all the way from Tayuman to Gil Puyat station. Then, we took a jeepney and got off near the bridge and walked towards one of the customers to get a sample to be produced in the company.

And then, we got into a bus, not knowing it was a wrong bus. Instead of turning towards Ayala Avenue, it went straight towards Gil Puyat Ave. Luckily the bus turned right when it arrived at the embassy building and went straight towards the strip of hotels located on both sides of the street. When I spotted the Mandarin Oriental, The Peninsula, and the Shangri-La, I knew where to go. My mom and I were supposed to go to another customer and deliver the goods to them.

We had to walk several kilometers! From The Peninsula, we took the underpass towards the Allied Bank underpass and walk again towards Ayala Museum, then take the escalator up to the bridge linking the Landmark to Greenbelt. Walk, walk, walk again. Passing Music One, Grappa's, Cafe Bola, Tavern...we went down the stairs towards the strip of coffee shops: Cafe Briton, Cafe Havana, Starbucks, Seattles...then entered Greenbelt 3 to get some air-conditioning. It was freakingly hot outside!

Then Mom and I trudged our feet towards the row of restaurants across Greenbelt 1, namely Nuvo, Temple...I forgot the rest. Afterwards, we walked inside the Greenbelt 1 mall, and I remembered the times that we had the field trips to watch the OnStage Shakespeare plays, namely The Merchant of Venice and The Taming of the Shrew. I find both very good, but some say the first one is better. That's because they are lovestricken individuals. Merchant is more of a love story. Taming is a comedy.

Anyway, finally! After kilometers of walk we arrived at our destination. After leaving the goods at the customer's office, we walked back towards Glorietta to get lunch. Yes, we walked the hell road again. My feet are aching.

Where we had lunch? Our usual place: Teriyaki Boy. I ordered our usuals: futo maki, california maki, spicy salmon gunkan, bottomless iced tea, and chasyu don. They are my favorites, and I say you try them 'cause they are very, very delicious.

Then Mom and I took the LRT back home. This time, I got to sit. But Mom went back home while I went to SM San Lazaro to buy my notebooks and pens. There are lots of people at National Bookstore! Instead of buying nine notebooks for my nine subjects, I opted to buy one of those compiled notebooks that allowed one to have three subjects at the notebook. Then two fifty-leaf Green Apples for my Rizal Course and theology. RC....yuck. I hate it.

I must be crazy because I bought two for no apparent reason. Now I'm having a hard time to decide which one I'd use when classes begin. Anyway, I bought two compiled notebooks, four graphic notebooks for my two chemistry subjects and two math subjects, and a couple of pens. Then I went back home and plopped in bed.

Instead of sleeping, I'm typing this blog post.

I must be crazy.

I'd catch sleep later.

Friends

Last night at a local channel, I heard the Filipino translated Chinese song, which Uneans usually SUNG during graduation day for the past years. (Thank goodness that we were spared from it.) I don't like the translation because .... hay, ayoko na nga magsalita! Let me just give you MY translation.

For all these years, I'm alone (or kung sino man yung ALONE)
The storms and rains have passed
We had tears, we had mistakes
And we remembered what we persevered for

You will only know when you truly loved
We get lonely, we return
(please correct this one)
We have dreams, and I have you in my heart

My friend, let's walk through life together
The old days won't come again
One word, one lifetime
One relationship, one cup of wine

My friend, we didn't experience loneliness
You'll understand when I call you my friend
(ah, correct this one as well, it sounds weird)
We still have wounds, still have distresses
We still have to walk the road
But you still have me

They may have translated the song, but why couldn't they do it on the chorus part?? Corrections are open. See, I'm a person who listens to opinions. =)

Can You Really Drink Too Much Water?

YES.

Drinking too much water can lead to a condition known as water intoxication and to a related problem resulting from the dilution of sodium in the body, hyponatremia. Water intoxication is most commonly seen in infants under six months of age and sometimes in athletes.

Water intoxication and hyponatremia result when a dehydrated person drinks too much water without the accompanying electrolytes.

When too much water enters the body's cells, the tissues swell with the excess fluid. Your cells maintain a specific concentration gradient, so excess water outside the cells (the serum) draws sodium from within the cells out into the serum in an attempt to re-establish the necessary concentration. As more water accumulates, the serum sodium concentration drops -- a condition known as hyponatremia. The other way cells try to regain the electrolyte balance is for water outside the cells to rush into the cells via osmosis. The movement of water across a semipermeable membrane from higher to lower concentration is called osmosis. Although electrolytes are more concentrated inside the cells than outside, the water outside the cells is 'more concentrated' or 'less dilute' since it contains fewer electrolytes. Both electrolytes and water move across the cell membrane in an effort to balance concentration. Theoretically, cells could swell to the point of bursting.

From the cell's point of view, water intoxication produces the same effects as would result from drowning in fresh water. Electrolyte imbalance and tissue swelling can cause an irregular heartbeat, allow fluid to enter the lungs, and may cause fluttering eyelids. Swelling puts pressure on the brain and nerves, which can cause behaviors resembling alcohol intoxication. Swelling of brain tissues can cause seizures, coma and ultimately death unless water intake is restricted and a hypertonic saline (salt) solution is administered. If treatment is given before tissue swelling causes too much cellular damage, then a complete recovery can be expected within a few days.

Mall Tour

Yesterday, together with my relatives, we went to SM Mall of Asia.

First of all, if you want to go there, be prepared! And go there when it's weekdays to avoid the 'people mountain people sea.' (In other words, madaming tao.) Be prepared as in BRING WATER, PAMAYPAY, or if possible, a CHAIR. You don't have anything to sit when you get inside the mall.

The mall is really, really very big--and we arrived there at ten thirty in the morning and started the tour. Good thing was there weren't any people yet, so we can walk around without pushing somebody else. The bad thing is, by the time we got to the whatever mall wing is that (the one facing the ocean), my feet are tired. Fantastic view, but you pay the price.

There are lots of restaurants and boutiques in that mall. Kinda complete. And we saw Henry Sy yesterday. If you're going there, take the chance to ride the FREE RIDE shuttle. Yun nga lang, dapat magaling ka magsiksik. There are Pinoys there that don't know the meaning of COURTESY. Or shall I say they are thick-skinned. They have been sitting there for many times and they're not coming down to let others have the chance. Tsk tsk.

There, that's it. Dummy's guide to touring Mall of Asia. BE PREPARED! BRING WATER! WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES! BRING MONEY! BE THICK-SKINNED AS WELL TO GET THE PEOPLE OUT OF THE SHUTTLE! (Haha!)

This Is To All My Friends!

I like this song's contents. Well, if ya don't know yet, it's the theme song from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. This message goes to all of my friends out there!

All Things (Just Keep Getting Better)
Widelife
All things just keep getting better
You came into my life
and my world never looked so bright yeah
it's true, you bring out the best in me
and now I can clearly see

Days keep getting better
Nights keep getting better
Days keep getting better
Nights keep getting better
it's true! it's true! it's true true true

When you are around, When you are around
All things just keep getting better
When you are around, When you are around
All things just keep getting better

See it's more than one day (more than one day)
That you'll be right here beside me (stay beside me)
It's you and all of the things you do
that makes everything alright

'Cause
Days keep getting better
Night keep getting better
Days keep getting better
Nights keep getting better
it's true! it's true it's true true true

When you are around, When you are around
All things just keep getting better
When you are around, When you are around
All things just keep getting better

When we are together baby(together baby) oh yeah
things keep getting better.
Better baby better baby,
When we are together baby, 'gether baby.
things keep getting better baby, better baby.
When we are together...

When you are around, When you are around
All things just keep getting better
When you are around, When you are around
All things just keep getting better

All things just keep getting better
All things just keep getting better

Help Me!

I asked for a Palm for a graduation gift, which was three months ago. Until now, it hasn't been given to me. If you know my mom, you know what I mean.

Right now, she's telling me that her nephew's suggesting that I go get a PC notebook. It's nice, yeah, but the problem is, COULD YOU EVEN USE THE NOTEBOOK IN CLASS IN FRONT OF THE TEACHER? Palm Pilots could be hidden, but not a notebook.

Let me state my PROS and CONS for both objects.

Pros for Palm TX
1. I could use it as a calendar, organizer, and the mp3 player.
2. It has Wi-Fi.
3. It has the mp3 player. Saves me money to buy an iPod.
4. Compact and it won't get seen if ever I put it out in my desk.
5. I can bring my Word, Excel, Powerpoint projects in it.
6. It has Bluetooth and infrared.
7. I've always wanted one.

Cons for Palm TX
1. Small memory, although I can use a memory expansion card.
2. Can't use it when you have to present a big project using a projector.
3. I would not be able to use my organizer if I have the Palm. I use to write my stuff down the notebook. With the Palm, it's always the Palm.

Pros for a notebook
1. can use it for project presentation
2. can use it when you need to have a document done fast
3. portable computer around

Cons for a notebook
1. Do you want to be lugging it around?
2. Can you listen to music?
3. possibility of getting snatched
4. I'm just studying in UST, for goodness sake.

If I want a notebook, is a MacBook better than Windows operated laptops?

Alright readers. Give me your comments by commenting or tagging your thoughts down. It would be appreciated. How I would like to have both, but with...nah, forget it. Just tell me your opinions.
